Putaki Bay is a quiet bay situated off Putiki Reserve. It has plenty of accessible rocks to fish off, just keep an eye on the tides or it’ll be a wet walk back to the beach.
Putaki Bay fishing spot is located off Putiki Reserve down the far end of Shelly Beach Road. There is a cul-de-sac/ dead end with plenty of roadside parking.
Situated on Putiki Reserve is a public toilet and a nice walking track to the point.
This fishing spot is accessed next to the Waiheke Sea Scouts Hall via a few manmade dirt steps down the bank.
It is a quiet, peaceful spot to just relax, think and fish.
When we were there we saw many fish boil ups, sting ray and caught snapper of various sizes and kahawai.

The best way to access Putaki Bay fishing spot is parking on Shelly Beach Road. Access via foot through Putiki Reserve and down dirt steps past the Sea Scouts Hall to Putaki Bay beach.
