Overview

BeFit Functional Fitness is a Waiheke gym located in Ostend, that offers 24 hour access, The gym focuses more on free weight and cables that are isometric machines.

The machines they have are cables connected to a fan/magnet which provides resistance. So i would say its more of a CrossFit style workout.

It might be a little bit smaller than the main Waiheke Gym but you get all the time access.

Previously the gym was called the Yard in 2022 until proud owners Remy and Pounamu took over and renamed it BeFit. They are both fitness and health enthusiasts, their mission is to create a community of like minded individuals to train and adopt a healthy lifestyle.

Remy is a certified personal trainer and gym owner, who has a passion for health and fitness. He also has a lot of experience in competitive sports such as playing ice hockey and hockey around the world. His main motivation, is to lead a healthy and sustainable lifestyle.

Pounamu became a qualified personal trainer in 2012, followed by completing a Bachelor of Applied Science in Otago. She has a holistic approach to health and is passionate about nurturing the body and mind with nutritious food.

They also offer classes such as Functional fit, personal training and 3 week or 3 month open gym memberships.
