Overview

Talking Tree Hill is an outdoor educational facility based on Waiheke. They offer nature-based programmes for children 5-12 years.

They collectively support children to develop and strengthen their knowledge and skills to self orientate and in the world.

They annually upgrade their programmes to be bigger, better and bolder which are completely unique with specialist educators and assistants.

Talking Tree Hill have a holistic approach of learning with nature play, creative arts and the freedom of seasonal learning at your child’s fingertips. These programmes are specifically designed for the health, wellbeing and overall excitement of being a child.

They have 1 day school programmes during term time and 1 day adventures on the school holidays.

Gear Grab – Hire

Programmes Offered

Tamariki Playshops

• Talking tree day school – Children learn music, Te  Ao Maori, yoga, drama, art, food, story, eco-passion projects, everything ‘natureal ($60 + GST 20 children only) Mixed Age group. Tuesdays and Wednesdays . 8:15-2:15 pick up and drop off from Waiheke Primary School.

• Talking tree tots on a hill – Animal farm, natural playground, Bush/forest School. Think mucky play, adventuring & creating. Children enrolled at Tots on the rock (AGES 3+ | PICKUP & DROP OFF FROM TOTS ON THE ROCK / 9 – 12:30) $22.50 a session 

• 1 day adventures – Children ages 5-11years will be whittling, mining, growing, cooking, creating music, art, yoga, Te Ao Maori, sports, DIYing, crafting, nature games, makerspace, tinkering, and connecting with nature for mind and body health! Term Time – Week 1 of each holiday period. (8:30-4:30. Pick up / Drop off Waiheke Primary School carpark)

• 1 day school – During term from 8:30-2:30 on a Wednesday for Primary aged children (5-10yrs)  and on a Friday from 8:45 – 12:30 for Early childhood aged children (3-5yrs). Children will Learn to grow and cook from their paddock to table programme, Engineering and outdoor crafts with the Nature Punk Programme, Sculpting and fashion with the Junk to Funk programme, Walk & Talk Art Trail, Stillness and quiet moments in the hammocks, Natures Nook, Yoga platform and Mindfulness library.

Access Information

• Smaller Car – Up their driveway or Children get picked up and dropped off from schools

The best way to access Talking Tree hill would be on Man O War Bay Road, this is entered via Waiheke Road. There is a turn off towards Man O War Bay- follow the signage. Talking tree hill is located up a unpaved driveway there is plenty of signage guiding to the school.
