Overview
Kiwibank Waiheke Branch is in Oneroa, you can open new accounts, withdraw cash, make payments.
They claim on the Waiheke branch information that you can do insurance and credit cards in store, but we know first hand this type of action is outsourced to call centres, you can fill out forms in the shop and get referred via email or phone to apply.
Allpoint have a 24/7 ATM outside in front of the bank.
We would take photos inside the bank, but they always prohibit that so will just stick to outside photos.
Update 2025 New
Have been past on the 11th of December, and everything Kiwibank has been removed. The ATM out the front is called Allpoint. Kiwibank and Allpoint are in a partnership, but are still separate companies. As Allpoint have partnered with most big NZ banks. So I would not consider that a Kiwibank ATM. More just a global payment provider.
Either way there is no trace of Kiwibank now other than the we are closed sign.
Update 2025 Old
Kiwi bank have announced they will be closing their doors on Waiheke as of 10th December 2025.
Here’s a statement on behalf of a Kiwibank spokesperson:
“We’d like to thank everyone who took the time to share their feedback. We carefully reviewed and considered all feedback received during the consultation. While we acknowledge that some customers prefer in-person banking, the decision was ultimately based on the consistently low demand for these services on the island. Over time, most customers have shifted to using digital and phone channels, which offer greater convenience and flexibility for the majority.
We are reaching out directly to regular branch customers to offer assistance, including one-on-one support from a Kiwibank digital expert for those who would like help getting set up with digital banking. If there is demand, we will also arrange for additional team members to be available on-site at the branch ahead of the closure.
We recognise that digital access isn’t universal and for customers who are unable – or choose not – to access banking services digitally, phone banking and our contact centre are available options. Allpoint Smart ATM will remain at its current location so customers can continue to make deposits and withdrawals of notes 24/7.
Based on feedback received during the consultation process, we’re also working with the Citizens Advice Bureau on Waiheke Island, who has kindly offered to support the transition.
We are committed to serving our Waiheke Island customers during this transition and through our other channels.”
