Wharf Road Upper Walkway is located at the end of wharf road, up a hill looking out at boats. It has some parking on the side of the road if available.
The Walkway consists of two sides that both lead down to the water and small bays off Putiki bay.
When driving up to the walkway the road turns into a private driveway at the end and you have to do like a 3 point turn to turn around.
Left Side Walkway
The left side walkway has a sign that leads you down the path, the path is about 300m long down to a rocky beach outlook. Some of the walk has has a few slips so the path narrows to only one person wide. It is down hill to the bay with 5 steps located at the end. Some trees hang over the path so take care when walking the path. We rate this a difficulty 3-4 out of 10, if it has just rained the difficulty might be more like a 5/10.
Right Side Walkway
The Right side walkway is a 50-60m path that leads to a small pebbly beach that has about 30 steps, it is located about 20m back from the first path. This small beach currently has a few boats sitting on it and a few plastic chairs. I think boat goers sit down here on the chairs drinking.
