Hekerua Bay

Overview

Hekerua Bay is a little hidden bay in Oneroa. The bay is only accessible by foot or via boat. During high tide from the higher cliffs the rocks and seafloor are visible due to the clear blue water.

If walking, you can take one of several tracks – Either from Sandy Bay, from Te Aroha Ave, or Queens Drive.

It is a less populated beach rather than many other beaches Waiheke has to offer, it can be perfect to have a private picnic or even just do some rock skimming.

Key Access Points

From Te Aroha Ave walkway path

Accessible from Karaka Road, Te Aroha Ave is a bush walking track.

From Goodwin Ave/Queens Drive

Coming from Goodwin Ave at end of Queens Drive. There is a sealed path called the zig-zag path, which is considerably steeper than the Te Aroha track. You will come across a bunch of letterboxes lined up at the start of this path, follow this path down to our beautiful Hekerua Bay.
