The Carpark Cafe And Bar

Overview

The Carpark Cafe and Bar is one of the key cafes on the Island featuring Jens famous pies. Pies are about $7-8, sit-down breakfasts range from $15-25. One of the most popular promo’s this café does is smoked fish Friday, every Friday they make smoked fish pies, they are about $1 more than typical pies, but very tasty for a smoked fish pie.

History Behind The Cafe

Jen the original owner of The Carpark Café used to have a café on Tahi Road Called Schooner Cafe. Many locals were happy to hear she would be opening a new café with the ability to have sit down breakfasts.

I think one of the sit-down meals is a Melt, this is another throw back to the mushroom melt of the old days.

Surfdale Bakery

This bakery sells an assortment of hot/cold easy to go meals such as pies, sausage rolls, hotdogs, cordon bleus, sandwiches, fruit salads and sweet foods.

Update 2025

Late 2025 The Carpark Cafe was sold. It still runs the same but under a new owner.
