Being the only Thai restaurant on Waiheke it is a popular place to eat at.

Red Crab Thai Cuisine is created by the owners of the legendary Mai Thai, Thai Street and Grasshopper restaurants. A rich heritage of Thai Cuisine using a unique blend of locally sourced ingredients with a twist of authentic Thai flavours giving a beautiful fusion of taste.

Red Crab is certainly one our favourite restaurants to go to. We love their Pad med, Pad Thai, Green Curry and Massaman Lamb.

You can either enjoy a romantic meal inside their restaurant or get takeaway and relax at home, the choice is yours.

They also do small affordable lunch meals if your just wanting something quick to eat.

The owners of Red Crab also own the restaurant next to them called One View.

Bisou Cafe brings a taste of Europe to Waiheke Island, serving up savoury and sweet crepes, freshly baked baguettes and pastries alongside Eighthirty coffee and fresh juices.

Surfdale Bakery

This bakery sells an assortment of hot/cold easy to go meals such as pies, sausage rolls, hotdogs, cordon bleus, sandwiches, fruit salads and sweet foods.

2025 Update

In 2025 their “Sweet and Sour chicken” has made the “Top 100 Iconic Auckland Eats” chart. This chart is a yearly list of all the top eats around Auckland, will do a update in 2026. Congratulations Red Crab.

Wheelchair Access

The best way to get to easily access red crab is the small parking lot down Oneroa Village Lane, this is a one way road that can be accessed opposite The Island Grocer. There are a few disability parks available and a concrete path leading to the restaurant.
